Attorney

Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, & Berkowitz, PC

Charleston

Age 30

I am an associate attorney in Baker Donelson’s Charleston office, where my practice focuses on commercial litigation, energy and utility regulation, financial services, and real estate matters. I have been fortunate to represent clients in complex proceedings before state and federal courts and regulatory agencies while learning from accomplished colleagues who have invested in my professional development. I take pride in approaching each matter with preparation, sound judgment, and a commitment to achieving practical results for my clients. My long-term goal is to become a trusted counselor and community leader whose career reflects integrity, excellence, and service. I hope to build lasting relationships, mentor younger professionals, and contribute meaningfully to Charleston’s continued growth. To me, giving back means recognizing that professional opportunities carry a responsibility to serve others. Whether through civic involvement, mentorship, or direct service, I believe meaningful leadership requires investing time and effort in the community that has supported you. Success is most worthwhile when it creates opportunities for others and leaves the community stronger.

Favorite Quote and Why: “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson. This quote resonates with me because meaningful accomplishments require more than talent or opportunity; they require genuine commitment to the work.

Definition of a Successful Leader: A successful leader sets a clear direction, earns trust through integrity and consistency, and creates opportunities for others to succeed. Effective leadership requires listening carefully, communicating honestly, and accepting responsibility, particularly when circumstances are difficult.

Advice to 18-Year-Old Self: I would tell my 18-year-old self not to worry about having every step figured out. Work hard, remain curious, seek out good mentors, and pursue opportunities that are unfamiliar or challenging. Invest in relationships, treat people well, and remember that sustained progress matters more than immediate perfection.
